Answers to the FAQ:

1. How do I register my child for classes ?

To register your child for a "Kindermusik By Catherine" class, you will have to contact the school or club of your choice, and they will take care of it all. If you are not a member of a club, but have a friend who is, you will be asked to quote their membership number. There is usually a surcharge for non-members.

2. When is registration open?

Registration is usually open about 2 months before the start of the course. If the class of your first choice is full, please ask to be put on a waiting list and you will be contacted once space is available. Sometimes it is possible to make an extra class if there is minimum of 4 children.

3. Where are the classes held?

Classes are held in Kowloon and on Hong Kong Island. Please see class locations and schedules for more information.

4. What does the fee include?

The courses are held in 15/16 week semester and the fees include the Home materials. There are no other charges.

5. Can I join once a programme has started?

Yes, you can, subject to space. Most clubs and schools have a pro-rata class rate but you must purchase the set of Home materials.

6. Do I need to be with my child?

A parent or caregiver must always be present with an under 3 year old. A baby or child of this age could become too distressed if left by him/her self. Plus, class activities for this age range are styled to incorporate adult/child interaction.

7. Do I need the Home Materials?

The Home Materials are part and parcel of the Kindermusik curricula. One doesn't go without the other. The 'materials' become a part of your child's life, as they learn the tunes of the songs and dances, enjoy reading the story books and most of all doing the activities from the activity book and playing with their own percussion instrument! If you have twins or siblings who would like to use the materials, books & instrument, please ask your educator for a "sibling kit". The kit doesn't include the CDs.

8. What are the topics of the different curricula?

This is a BIG question!

Village has 8 programmes. The names of these programmes and themes differ.

• Dream Pillow (lullabies)
• Hickory Dickory Tickle & Bounce (traditional nursery rhymes)
• Rhythm of my Day (rituals & rountines of the day)

Our Time has 4 programmes, each lasting 15 weeks. The names of these programmes and themes differ.

• Wiggles & Giggles (animals/objects that make us laugh)
• Away We Go (transportation)
• Milk & Cookies (around the home)
• Fiddle-Dee-Dee (in the country)

• See What I Saw (exploration & discovery)
• Toys I Make! Trips I Take (in the toy shop)
